I’m pretty sure this answer will be dependent on the rating factors filed by the insurance company and what your state insurance department allows.
Anecdotally? Our family has personal experience with Pet Plan’s (now FetchPet.com) policy pricing and the submission of claims.
Our blockheaded and beloved American Bulldog has a fetish for socks and dish towels. After two abdominal surgeries and many thousands of dollars paid in claims, our policy premium has remained the same as when we started.
Before any of you chastise us for what might be our responsibility for the first or second incident… I’ll just say that yes, we had socks and towels under strict lockdown. What happened can only be explained by Row’s quickness and mad hunting skills!
Needless to say, we’re fans of FetchPet and will keep the policy in force as long as they will have us!
TIP: Buy the policy when you first get your pup and your premium will be lower!
